Introduction of measurement examples of VRG-100, a dedicated device for evaluating VR-related components
Main specifications of VRG-100
・Operating wavelength:466nm、543nm、650nm(Customization available)
・Retardation measurement range:0~λ/2(QWP measurement available)
・Measurement of retardation and circular polarization degree (ellipticity) for each RGB color is possible.
・Samples containing polarizers, which could not be measured with the conventional WPA series, can also be measured.
・Real-time measurement of the relative angle between the polarizer and the QWP is possible.
Retardation measurement of Lenses
・When measuring the retardation of only the lens, it is desirable for the retardation of lens to be as small as possible.
Lens 1
Within the measurement area (circular area marked by red dashed line):
Average retardation:15.4nm
Maximum retardation:106.8nm
Lens2
Within the measurement area (circular area marked by red dashed line):
Average retardation:1.3nm
Maximum retardation:16.4nm
Retardation measurement of Lens + QWP
・When measuring the retardation of a lens+QWP, if the QWP is attached to a curved surface, unevenness and retardation shifts are likely to occur. It is ideal to have a retardation of one-quarter of the wavelength at each wavelength.
Ellipticity measurement①
・When measuring the pancake optics including QWP and polarizers, it is desirable to have as perfect a circular polarization as possible at each wavelength.

Ellipticity measurement②
・Ellipticity measurement of the display is available.
・It is desirable for the display to emit as close to perfect circular polarization as possible at each wavelength.
Relative angle measurement
・Capable of measuring the relative angle between QWP and polarizer
・To create ideal circularly polarized light, a relative angle of 45 degrees is desired.
Real-time angle display function available (After obtaining the polarizer transmission axis)
